Branding package launched for SME's

(Released 2005)

Pretoria-based Agency, Kashan Advertising, has announced the launch of BrandSME, a dedicated service for Small and Medium Enterprises.

Director, Michael Wood believes that one of the most overlooked aspects of any new business is communication and a critical part of that is one’s visual brand. Most small, new businesses start out with cash constraints. They tend to find a friend or neighbour to come up with a logo for their letterhead and business card and then leave the rest to chance. They often end up with a logo that they do not own the copyright to or one that is impracticable or unusable once it is needed for applications other than a letterhead. And perhaps more critically, says Wood, they have no means of marketing their product or service.

BrandSME offers two packages to start-out businesses, a professional branding package and a website design and hosting package. Both are affordable and in addition have flexible payment options available. Most importantly, once fully paid, all copyright is assigned to the client.

The branding package satisfies the need for a professional and usable visual brand and the website package provides an instant marketing tool which is considerably more affordable than media advertising, says Wood.

Kashan to Sponsor Azania Youth Group

(Released 2005)

Negotiations have been concluded between Kashan and the Azania Youth Group, a not-for-profit, Section 21 Company, for the sponsorship of all marketing material for the Group by Kashan.

Azania Youth is headed up by Duke Malan, assisted by founding members Tsholo Mogale, Cyprian Molati, Lesiba Masoga and Tebogo Maphumulo. It is their intention to bring together the most dynamic and forward thinking high school students from around South Africa for week-long programmes focused on grooming future leaders for South Africa.

The programmes will cover areas such as Business; Social Security, Health, Poverty and Education; Law and Justice; Science, Technology and Engineering; the Role of the Media; International Relations and Diplomacy; and National Security and Peacekeeping.

Kashan’s Caro Heard believes that Azania Youth will play a vital role in promoting civic duty, community involvement and political awareness amongst the youth. It will also assist in bridging the gap between the youth and business and political leaders. Through planned international exchanges it will offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for youngsters to experience the world beyond South Africa’s borders.

Malan sees other spin-offs of the programme in that it could become a service provider to government and, through its international programmes could create awareness of South Africa’s tourism potential.

Kashan has agreed to fully sponsor the development of all marketing and promotional material for the Group, including the design and hosting of its website.

New Staff

(Released February 2005)

Duke Malan recently completed his studies at the Tshwane University of Technology and takes up a marketing position within the company. During his student years, he was privileged to be selected as one of a small handful of South African students to attend the ‘Presidential Classroom’ Programme in Washington and is actively trying to put together a local programme of the same calibre. We have no doubt that Duke will add a new and youthful perspective.

Catherine Brown is also a Tshwane University of Technology graduate, with a few years of design experience under her belt. She has taken over one of the graphic design positions within the company from Astrid Korvink. Astrid had been with us for two years when the ‘wanderlust’ took over and she is now discovering Europe from a base in London.

Catherine looks set to live up to the task of satisfying the exacting expectations placed on all Kashan designers.

We welcome Duke and Catherine to Kashan and trust that we will all enjoy a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
