Our Strategic Policies:
Socio-economic Development - Pro bono work is regularly undertaken for a number of deserving organisations (see Caring).
Enterprise Development - Empowerment is intrinsic to each and every project undertaken by Kashan. Sharing of industry knowledge and good practice is seen not only as a civic duty, but as a means of professionalising an industry which tends to be loosely governed.
Skills Development - In-house skills development and external training are facilitated on an ongoing basis by means of time allocation and financial assistance.
Employment Equity - Kashan promotes employment equity through its internal employment policy. The company has a stable staff complement (40% Black). Through its internship programme an ongoing effort is made to capacitate interns to take up the reins.
Preferential Procurement - Suppliers are selected on the basis of their ability to deliver a quality product/service on time and within budget. All suppliers are B-BBEE compliant.
Safety, Health and the Environment - In line with leading organisations worldwide, Kashan is committed to safety, health and environmental responsibility.
Safety - Kashan's premises and equipment are maintained in safe condition at all times. In addition to statutory Workman's Compensation payments, Kashan maintains precautionary, independent accident insurance cover for both its employees and visitors to its premises.
Health – The general health of employees is vital to the ongoing success of the company. Given that the industry is deadline driven, due care is taken to ensure that employees are awarded sufficient 'rest time' to avert stress-related illness. Kashan promotes voluntary HIV/AIDS testing and provides care and medical support for staff members affected or infected by the disease.
Environment – Due consideration is given to environmental sustainability through an in-house paper recycling policy, the exclusive use of energy efficient light bulbs and the shutdown of all electronic equipment when not in use. Refuse is sorted and disposed of through a responsible recycling specialist.
Confidentiality - All information that is disclosed to Kashan during the course of business, or pertains to or is contained in material produced, is treated in the strictest confidence. All employees and sub-contractors are bound by signed confidentiality agreements.
Copyright© - In line with the Copyright Act No.98 of 1978 and subsequent amendments, copyright to all origination work resides with Kashan. Ownership of all deliverables transfers to the client on receipt of full payment.
Governing Law - The laws of the
Security - All transactions and information pertaining to transactions are secure in terms of the professional working relationships that Kashan maintains with its clients and suppliers through documented agreements.
Terms and Conditions of Trade - All business dealings are governed by Kashan's terms and conditions of trade, which can be viewed on its web site at www.kashan.co.za or www.kashangroup.com
Our Operational Policies:
Back-up - All Kashan projects are backed up to CD and stored for use in future projects.
Costing - Depending on the need and client preferences, Kashan costs each project according to specification. In the case of long-term projects, costing may be based on a fixed monthly fee, a retainer agreement or on hourly rates.
Fulfilment - Kashan’s efficient production system and secure distribution ensure that material is collected and that products are delivered safely, on time and to the right destinations.
Privacy - All contact information is treated in the strictest confidence, and is NOT used for ANY purpose other than contact between Kashan and its clients, or as instructed by clients.
Virus Protection - All electronic communication emanating from Kashan is protected by up-to-date AntiVirus software. Kashan cannot, however, guarantee that communications are free of errors, viruses, interception or interference.
